My name is Kelly, and I love the creative process, (and coffee, and Pellegrino.) I love being a part of it as well as checking out the art of others. Whether it is the written word, painting, drawing, photography or any number of creative pursuits, I am inspired by the works of others.
I live in the city of Richmond, VA with my boyfriend and my 14 year old daughter. I have a 19 year old son who lives with his dad not far away (to be closer to his friends and school.) He’s about to graduate high school. Hooray!!!
I have gone through many changes in 2010 and 2011. I have emerged a stronger person. I think I must enjoy cataclysmic change because I have certainly attracted enough of it into my life. I guess it must show in my poetry. In 2011 my son moved out, my husband left me, an old boyfriend resurfaced, I lost two close friends (was blindsided by all of this.) I am not saying this to complain, or even focus on the negative. I recognize that change equals growth, that is what this blog is all about. Shadows (or the parts of our selves/lives that we don’t want to look at.) Lights (or the celebrations/happy inspirations.) I love expressing myself visually through photography. I welcome comments on my photos as well as my poetry.
Life continues to ebb and flow like the ocean, with many moods. I need to express them, even if they make me cringe and I don’t want to look at them. Also the sparks! The fun and gratitude that is there at the same time.
These darker feelings are noghint to be afraid of, they call out for expression, and I share them here for all to see because I see the importance of being authentic. I teach my clients authenticity, so I follow my own lead.
I invite you to enjoy, comment and follow me.
